A single starling is nothing to be feared. Murmex builds airspace defense on the same principle — many cheap passive sensors, and an unarmed interceptor to finish what they find.

What we are building
Defense in the U.S. has traditionally come at a significant premium. Programs run late, run over, and arrive more complex than the threat they were meant to meet.
Our answer is not a better program. It is cheaper sensing in greater numbers, an interceptor that carries nothing explosive, a bill of materials in every box, and hardware you are allowed to open.
DOTS
Proven in simulation — hardware in progress
A passive, camera-based system designed from the ground up to detect aerial objects such as drones and planes at short to medium range. Because the sensing is optical, tens to hundreds of nodes can be deployed cost-effectively — redundant and disposable sensing that works alongside traditional radar installations, detecting and tracking in real time.

Hardware design stage
The answer to an incoming threat, working alongside DOTS. These drones are not armed with ordnance, which makes them safe for use around public facilities and utilities. By combining detections from DOTS with onboard AI compute to confirm the threat, the system will obliterate incoming threats using kinetic impact, even in contested environments.

Planned alongside deliveries
Parts for these drones will be available for purchase separately, so customers can repair or upgrade their systems if they choose. Too often, customers are locked out of the hardware they procure — we believe those who purchase our hardware have the right to repair and replace it as they see fit. All parts will continue to be NDAA compliant.
Every item sold by Murmex will include our internal bill of materials, with a line item disclosing the profit margin we reinvest in the company.
We are firm believers in onshore manufacturing, so our prices will be higher than our overseas counterparts — and we commit to cost-effective parts, simple in nature and easily expanded upon.
All innovation is an extension of prior innovation. We designed our software and hardware with custom integration in mind, so customers can keep building on top of them.

In a murmuration the flock stops being a set of birds and becomes a new creature in itself, greater than the sum of its parts. That is the shape of what we are building, and the reason a single node is allowed to be cheap.
